Agitu

I’ve been riding
A wave of indigestion
With every single thought
Breaking through
Breaking in
I can’t stop feeling
I can’t stop
Seeing how this will end

The highs, the lows
The valleys and the peaks
Flashing hot
Before me here
I can see the joy,
Yet I see the agony still

Been tight-roping
Across the straws
And
Not the bendy kind

Been breeding fire
Way down deep

Been having trouble
Not falling asleep

I see the crutch
I cling on to

I grab the noose
Where it hangs
Yet the chair won’t budge
Before the sky falls in

I’ve been riding
A wave of indigestion
Through the good and the bad
Each step I take
By flame I’ve been had

Been riding
A wave of indigestion
It’s been so long
I’d forgotten
The ending to this song

  2. Real lyrical feel to yours today as well. Hate indigestion, reading that made me think of it too, how dare you...haha. But when put toward life it's much of the same. Each stanza started with a great image too, really like what you did there.

    1. Thanks Mary Ann, I try to be unique in my work, always trying to stay away from the same old same old, and when I start posting them you'll know lol Really glad you enjoyed the piece and could stop by. Thanks again.

  5. Reads rather musically. Emotional turmoil and a tensed up mind can cause feelings of indigestion, that I can attest to. There's a feeling of utter helplessness in that stanza about the noose.

    1. Thanks, I'm glad you saw the musical nature here, been on a bit of a songwriting kick and I've noticed a lot of the pieces that weren't supposed to be songs even has a bit of the musical feel to it, this one was suppose to though, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah there is a bit of that hopeless sense in here, glad you saw it. Thanks again, always the pleasure to read your comments.

  8. Thanks, glad you enjoyed the piece, yeah that's the thing about endings, never know how it's gonna be until it's there. I had fun yesterday checking out some of the poets I hadn't seen before over at RT's, was my first time contributing to the link, will do so again. Thanks

A bit of luck, I'd say. Emotion rings out in this piece.

  10. Enjoyed this despite the indigestion I was not enjoying myself. LOL! Thought it was funny that here I am trying to remind myself never to eat a hotdog with chili before bed ever again, when I started reading this. Good piece. Be blessed.
