Elder States

Polluted tadpole
Cracked and distilled
Jupiter’s child upon
Rings of clay
                  Cantankerous curmudgeonly
                  Broken, record scratches back at
                  The muse.
                  All the while,
                  The repetition reminds us of
                                             Gyrations affixed
Upon sticks of lunar might be
                                             Ribbons of deranged hypotheses
Of forgiveness
Alone, a light
To match, the strike
Of promiscuity away,
From Ecclesiastic rage—where shadows
Meant for the naïve, those wanderers unattended to,
Not intended for, beacon the wayward star-struck, structures
Divulged of both ether and fidelity

So sad, at this, twilit, late stage of night
Where pine promotes its eternal scents,
And the odor of stagnancy,
Fragrances prophetic foreshadow
Wafting amongst unsympathetic heirs

…And the sound, it sounds a little less familiar,
Than how it ought to, as the timeline trails.

Another Tuesday, Another Open Link Night. I Love Tuesdays and if you enjoy poetry you should too.  Head on over to D'Verse, check out some great poetry and share one of your own.  The Pub opens at 3.

Raindrop

Had some other things to do today, so I took a poem I had done a long, long while back and remixed it so to speak, changing a few words, structuring it a little and adding in a bit of projective verse.  Am working on some new pieces as well, and am planning on getting around to catch up on all the sites I've been not able to visit the past few days.  Anyhow.

Rain keeps dropping
at my feet,
feet,
feet
I look up
To the grey cloaked sky
and watch the drops fall
and watch the drops fall d
                                             o
                                                      w
                                                               n

The grass fills
Its thirst is quenched
The water pools on the pavement
Into cracks
it seeps
seeps
seeps
I hear the sounds
From below
So down stairs I do go
Flip on the lights
Flip that switch
And watch
As all things stored
Are    f        l        o       a       t        I        n       g by

I’m soon joined
By a concerned pair
Of eyes
No purring
As he meows
As his bathroom dr If ts slowly by

I put on my coat
And head on out
To the car I will go
But first
Raindrops
Keep f
         A
         L
         L
         I
         N
         G at my feet
                           Feet

Projected Cat

That purrs                                                                    that purrs
When happy                                                               when happy
Meows its hellos, loves because it knows not else so it meows a hellos
Historically presented as this nocturnal fiend, bonded to the hands of
Witches and the mentally deranged, yet cats can be very good friends
Slight they might.                  It’s just their way.                The way of
Their kind, love to                 them is truly blind               sometimes
They just have trouble showing exactly how much the depths of their
Loving goes.  They cannot pretend, they run away to return, announce
Their entrance with pride and                 mirth, beckoning their love
In ways other animals wouldn’t        think, ramming their heads into
Your leg, scratching their claws upon your bed, not intending to harm
You or your things, they are simply content to live with thee.  Cats are
Friends you’ll love to hold, friends who retract their claws when in your
Arms, yet when fear                                        strikes them off guard
Unfortunately your arm                                         might feel their hold, it
Stings for time until the alcohol shelters you.  But it must be spoke
That cats are not intending to harm you, in fact they will return from
Underneath the couch, rub between your seated legs, do a few laps of
This before the jump into the lap of you, purring so loud that you feel nothing ill of the long red scratch upon your arm, the purr makes you

Well, this didn't actually come out the way I had initially intended, but nonetheless I'll share it regardless.

The Desperate Below

Severance

From what you love

Severed

Heart from head

Isolated

Reconciliation will be difficult
As distorted voices RISE
Too many nuances
WrappedinoneenonidepparW
Cyclically returning to the painful remembrance
Of the pain you caused

Variables Shfinitg

Reversing htrae
Y o u d I s t a n c e y o u r s e l f f r o m t h e g r a v e
Trading soul for solace
Albeit temporarily

Never reading:  I knew you wouldn’t
You’ve always skimmed-it’s what you’ve always done
Mi  ing pieces, forgetng the print so fine
Angst remains once the glowing luster loses shine

Forever, for what you’ve done
To unrest in the place you will go
Forever pining-again and more
Forever returning to the days before
Clinging to the happy thoughts
As their pages burn then are lost

The desperate below
Warmly welcomes you
