Beneath The Sky

Hope and its various disembodiments,
Terraced upon a grove of grey-maroon
Tonsils, connect the innuendoes of jasmine
And lavender to the uncommon shrills fostered
Beneath old basins once familiar to mill-bred granules
That had long since forgotten the joy of wind born free.

Below the sky there are many reprehensible tales to be found.  Unfortunately, the search is much easier than the rescue.

Reconstruction

I wish you well
I wish you right
I spell your name
Upon my mirror’s fog this night

Fatigue is but a severance
Cutting short the light inside
Shaking, trembling, fading quick
Not sure of the words that crash you down,
Not aware of what it was that worked you up

Topographic
Buildings grow
Gut the earth
Kill the dirt
Transplant the soil
Converting the natural
To cold concrete and steel erect

Didn’t we learn, not to try and touch the sun?
Was the message blurry, was the eyes fogged up, could you not assemble the warning that the myth constructs?
Alas,
Daedalus,
Here we come
again

Amusia

Where once velvet chords would tremor
Like the veils to the feather of a tungsten floor
Breaths of inhalations deep, slowly
Columned their way, unto
The secret side of inner peace

Today, a cold statue divides,
As would the wall if still erect,
Coinciding with the concept of birth and death,
To which delusionary visions have been known to house

I had grown so very fond of sound
Therefore,
It does not surprise me at all
That Amusia
Should strike
It’s deafening, defining blow….

Like so many curtain calls
Destruction tends to enjoy
Standing above
It’s bloodied prey.

Noah's Displaced Home For Abusive Boys and Girls

There is a voyager
And he’s but one of many
Taking leave
To the planet Noah

Two by two
Four by four
Sixteen by sixteen
Deep
Wide
Width
Height
Hypotenuse of constrictor coils
Heat’s arousal; a spark to life-
A warmth Un-foiled in the kindliest of fashions

Sifting through those early sands
In a time before the eggshells ran
Man had a theory all his own

Created, was a world
In which (he) or (she) breathes a lungful heavenly…
Only to feel nothing, as the onyx fills the frame,
And the last of the bronchi, dye yet a deeper shade of gray

 Ages it seems now,
 Ages long ago,
When the rivers were rivers
And not reminders and slivers
Of a world…
Where even the reapers fear to play

Have we evolved to such a place?

Do we still try to take his place?

Have we not learned well enough?

With all the falters and flaws and
                  The guffaws and scars and
                           The withered replications
Of thought on what ought be done
When a second split would stake the view
Easily showing what hacks oft never know
That behind the clever and the strong
Usually it all simply
         Turns out
                  Oh, so very wrong

And after all,
What’s so difficult in
Simply living and loving
The way we were made to do?

Upon the Battlefields

Surface to air
Contact wounds
Amassing in clots,
Clustered epoxy,
Seeping, from flesh to soul

A revelation amongst balderdash
Revealing the jakes of war-
Chariots afire, travail the thieving scape
While asphalt and cumulus collide in view then break

…and the visions continue
Watercolors and botanicals
Both angles bountiful
Yet inhospitable,
to those who never spoke their tongue

Limbs. Torsos. Sternums. Tibias. Fibulas. Ulnas. Radii
Huddled jigsaws. Amassing carts.
Victor would have a field day in such anarchy of body

This world is inhabitable.
Air is filled with musket fodder
Water contaminated by what keeps us living

The truth materializes within each image
Pituitary cloaks, in division
Possibility, leashed by feral strands
And bounties clipped upon…
Things no man was meant to see.
