Loneliness

Days, I hold afar tonight
strays, watched cold from sight

Stealing life, embalming room—ever
reeling—seemed calming—simple, clever,

Binding her remnants so weak,
finding lit commandments upon doublespeak,

Starred eyes guide her cause,
guarded with pride then pause,

And she said each sign
firsthand, as unfed loneliness aligned

Deciphered verse:

I watched her from afar
as she lit each room

Life seemed so simple then,
with eyes upon her loneliness

Ok, so I thought I did something a bit different a few weeks back, but lost my notes as to what the directions were, confused myself a bit, so held off on posting.  Found them today, so decided to post it.

The poem utilizes a mathematical, cipher type approach for building a poem.  In the large grid, you'll notice each box has a rhyme scheme listed, which indicates where rhymes occur and so forth.

Their are two poems created here, but, to be fair, you kind of have to keep the hidden poem in mind while creating the original one.

The original poem will be entered into the spaces in the grid, making sure the rhyme schemes fit.  Then, the columns that do not rhyme are extracted, and thus, become a poem of their own.

Hopefully this explanation, and the poem itself, in grid and then broken down to how both original and hidden poem look taken out of the grid are adequate enough to understanding how this puzzle type of poem works.

Number of the Beast (Heart/Spirit/Art)

It's another Tuesday, and we all know what that means?  Yep, it's Open Link Night over at  D'Verse, stop on by for some amazing  artistry by all the great poets that submit their work.  And while you're there, share  one of your own.  It's a great time for anyone who likes to write or read poetry.

Moonstones rubbed for inspiration
Platonic solids textures make
As ideation coincides
With the golden section of                               your mind

Silence escapes a nervous void
With a mesmerizing tonal gaze,
Each vowel bends in me,
An enshrinement of consonancy

Before the hallowed harp doth play
I’m hearing sounds of primacy,
Voicing visions debasing me, of all I believed I knew.
It’s as if she’d been granted a gifted tongue—
To speak the words of Malachim

Six

Shifting shapes of angles blend to form
As matter, elements and bodies mix

As conversation eclipses time
Mudras vast beset my eyes

As winter nears
For the first in many years
It does appear
That Demeter, before her trip
Made preparations for
Nourishment
7, 8, 9
The universe and its qualities,
The constituents of the world

Knowing what I do know now
The Decad is the first number to need a second part
Ten.  Fingers-Thumbs.
…and so spins the wheel
When you’re near
I feel the meaning of
All the gifts of touch
Provided by
 Tetraktys
With love.

Bewitched
Bothered

Skin connects,
In conjecture,
A conjunction
Of space in time

The static charge
Lit
And the dancing
Emptiness;
Tibia to Torso
Fibula to Jaw,
That wasteland of promise
Alive at last.
A prism
A gaze
A crystalline
Grasp at time
Broken
Yet unashamed

A chalice
Filled with sorrow
We drank so very slow
Dry containment
Virtue stained
Plaster of
My wilderness
Cast aside
