We have every second
of every minute,
to make every hour count
Our every hour,
organically travels
a path from midnight to noon,
sun to moon, dusk til dawn,
dawn til dusk, in every hour
we place our trust
We have every hour
of every morning and
of every night, an essential
moment, in the life of a day
Our every day,
moves in six times four,
four times six, seven cycles,
repeating within, cycling without,
Our every day inevitably
moves from day to week
From week to month,
and months to seasons,
In seasons we change,
or remain, yet it's a given
that scenery shifts the
sights we see, and therein
we lose an hour, only to
gain it back again
We have every season,
which becomes a year,
every year a decade,
and for those fortunate
enough, perhaps they'll
age enough to see a
century of memories
For some there is too much,
for others it's much too few,
flying by, slowing down,
but I suppose, for most,
we ought to live life to the fullest,
making the time that way
have enough
Whether alone or together,
we have the means to love,
something timeless, something
that moves eternal, from
spark to spark, from heart
to hear

Enchantress
Enchantress
How can I tell which parts of you are real?
How will failure feel to me?
In what demeanor will the reflection gleam?
Escape the trellis
Vine to vine
Thorny path
Wrist to palm
Bare skin bludgeoned into tiny scars
And then there’s the matter of the ground…
We’ve never got along too well…
Wafers upon the tongue
Black Ideas
During a healing mass
Scarred and frayed
Toothpick child
It must be difficult
Living like an only child
Broken by the perspiration
Spent to covet him
The blood of yours you’ve never met
It was long before you came forth
Yet their love for him
Seems to fill their love for you
With remorse
Ruing
The child saved
Into the forest
With door sealed
Lights away
A beautiful princess you’ll be
Reign upon the land and trees
The creatures, the fleas
With the doting love
The mirror sees
But with neglect
A world of sympathy
Can take the feet only so distant
Before the cricks bend
And the soles benign no more
A temper mental summit calls
From ridges of despair
A transforming tear is spun
Bearing down
Shivering
And so it begins again…
The draft comes hither
It’s autumn no longer
Winter’s pool grows strong
As scarcity depletes refuge from sleep
Returning to the family that damns your seams
The years of unraveling
Have maimed the clay
Burn the halo
Disinherited since the earliest day
Into the forest
With door ajar
Skyline gray
A beautiful Queen you’ve matured to be
Reigning over land in shadow
The creatures all fear your teeth
All life subservient
All dreams delegated to bloodied knee
Disembodied by the penance others serve
You’ve acclimated the way so many predicted your road would preen
…And with the doting hatred
Of the image
That the mirror sees

Springtime Leads to Summer (Not so Fast, says your Mother)
Springtime,
Trees begin to sprout natural green
Oxygenation levels rise organically
Sun sprays to the heart
Rays of light envisioned
By heroes of everyday land
Normal, average every men,
They’ve got intriguing blueprints,
Yet when their canvass returns to bleakness
When the vision is blurred
When heat withdraws
A different message is conveyed,
Whiteouts in almost April,
When just last week we travelled to the attic,
Pulled out the boxes,
And renewed old acquaintances,
We’d hope to become re-familiar very soon,
And I awoke today; the same as every day,
Yet when I opened up the curtains,
Raised the blinds, certain to see a few days into spring time,
Green grass coated by misplaced snow,
Instead of outside, inside we return,
Instead of removing the plastic from the pane, we increase the heating bill once again
