A Hierarchy of Angels

Forgive me if I fail to see
The flattery in your Joie de vivre

Correct me if I’m insincere
In disregarding the context of your cheer

What’s left tomorrow is often the rejected
Frames of today

Distinguish yourself through honor
Open your heart to verite and
All the lies will fade away

Forgery of purpose is impossible
If dedication is one’s only vice

Destitution of promise is but
A reflection of internal strife

To calm such seas in tumult
Simply intuit the breath, exhaling
All denials and debilitating thrush
And such is the way
And such is the path
To delve fully in such direction
Is to submit to potent tracts
In truth there is forgiveness
In strength one finds the gravity of love
In harmony there lives a peaceful serenade
     Serenity one could almost touch

As one walks the valleys of the parent
All allegories are revealed

When one accepts all that is as what is served
There will be a hierarchy of angels revealed

Judicious Slaves

If this, then that
ten of these, two of that
similar proportions, perpendicularity of pain, as seen
through a perpetuation of crunching number machines

Persistently fading into never-ever-land,
no matter what has and is or isn’t and won’t be done,
the hours extinguish and the pyre plays
the final ashes of a flailing song

Solstices leap—
and jump higher—
than those vaunted beams—
oft balanced by the eyes of spoon-fed man

sometimes it feels,
as if the only oaths that matter,
are those force-fed regurgitations—regulations passed
from the mouths of invisible boss-men
to the hands that seed—unknowingly—

with the binding tenets graphed to flesh,
bound we become; bound we are
to propagate our own misfortunate scarring

They allow us what we think we want
they provide us with the thoughts they feed
empowering through asides and coercive acts
thus curating the souls path of arc
turning serf to purveyor,
whose own word of mouth marketing
is the pulpit, used as a vehicle for
convincing the misinformed,
that it’s in everyone’s best interests,
to keep the steel attached to lens

and they:
Satiate your promise
in all the vows you
break for them.
Ensconcing your
fruition in all the lies
you’ve faked.

Judicious slaves
to toil evermore
bound to become
what we are
and what we’ve always been
                            the epitome
of the antithesis
         of all that’s truly free

A Radically Obstructed Existence

We watch the cockerel’s dance,
And dream to learn its dusted step

Through Sloth-screening,
Triamines exude noxious
Freedoms stirring

The vitreous resolve
Of canopies high,
Air Fiery floods
Upon flashbulb
Firmament.

Crooked arrow scars engrain
Burnt sienna brilliance
To the pigmentation of
The washroom serf

The silver contrasts the skin
Always following the tinny sounds—
The only music ever sung to him

The cigar still hangs its shadow-veins,
Finger and thumbnails strain the check-boxed page,
Calmly noting the indices newest casualty

How’s and why’s are questions never asked,
Yet, should the capon crown be out of place,
An inquisition will surely find the reason why

In halation’s after-lens,
The breathing understand there & then
There’s no escaping these rutted rails
For us, even in mort, liberation ever fails

Independence

Auditory shields withdrawn
Unveiling the perplexities of paradoxical revelry
As freedom chimes the chalice brim
With golden spoons and self-satisfactory grins
On this day some time prior,
Atop this very soil independence alit desire
Through violent means and refusing coils
A snake once tread was draped in silence

Entertaining the truce beset before
Pandering swiftly because and for
Sentient creations bright and biased
Mindful only to the severed silence
Accompanying the loops beneath
Underpinnings of dream and feast
Many still free to suffer
While the morally indigent smugly sit,
In fabrics befitting of fancied queens and kings
         Smirking their usurping smiles
Daring to outline those sins that assailed against
As they detail painful occurrence
Resulting from illicit trysts and fits

         And yet they suffer still,
As undigested beast and swine
Foully stutter beneath their belly lines
         Dousing gluttony’s grit
With each reddened chalice
Tipped throughout periods of shortened time

Contrast this suffering
 To the scraps denied
Those tables where true patriots dine
Happy to live and breath in a land that’s free
Content to rest heads at night
Knowing love has blessed each of them
         That anything is possible
Despite the outstretched necks and noses snubbed
Piling their plates with oppressive “love”
 As those stuffed tummies
         Bobble like gelatinous cubes
Amused by parlays wagered upon
The distance made by children of a common man

Night terrors pass
As lightning affixes a midnight sky
Erupting pulsars
Loaded high
Where snakes stain the hands of children
Both rich and poor
***
Evading Bedouin tags
 Once reserved
For clouted men
In silken rags
And those defined
By poverty
 Somaticizing

As the tides shuffle in a darkened moon
The earth hides its vegetation under
Blankets of sleep
         Sounds of starlight whispers
         Take a bow
         As curtains retract
         Illuminating annualized Passion plays
All ills rescind
All sins forgiven
For but invariable lengths of minutes spent
On a hill
Or in the stands
Above the skyline
Looking out
Alone
Or in the company of many
Where outlooks are for the moment
Unified
 Overlooking oceans and seas
From far off lands caressed by sandy sheets
To elaborate palatial escapes in the east
                           Palettes shift
                           In shade and hue
                           Assumptions bleed well into
The extravagance blinding the sight of stars
As the orchestral movements carve their niche
                           All eyes become enriched
                                    From Presidents to hoodwinked fool
On this night, independence and hope comes alive for you
